Dear Rutherford family,
God gives us opportunities to love but not forever...
I am sad to learn of your loss.
I lost my 33-year-old stepson in 2012 to cancer and
my older sister at age 48 in 1999. We move on, but we
never lose hope that someday we will see them again.
I am an old friend of your son, John. He mentioned his
sister in a Facebook post.
With sympathy,
Holly Geller

Debbie and I actually go back to grammar school days at St.Vincent’s in Madison, NJ. Despite our young age, we knew we would be forever friends. How nice that our friendship continued with both of us attending Bayley-Ellard. But as often happens, life took us in different directions, thus losing touch. Now, to hear this news, my memories of Deb come rushing back. The fun, laughter, confidences shared…I guess God saw the same qualities I saw and needed her to do his work. My sympathies to you Tom, Amy and Sarah…find peace in knowing you got the best in a wife and mom. Fondly, Ann Marie (Sandello) Brady

Debbie’s life mattered to so many in the family and the community. Her bonds with friends and relatives were far reaching. Debbie’s artistic and caring ways touched numerous lives. Grandma Ru would love that her grandaughter enjoyed bunco. With condolences and heartfelt sympathy from across the miles, Sheila & John and Maggie.

I real truly miss you. You were a good friend
for many years. Whenever I had a problem, I
knew there was someone who could give me good
advice. You will surely be missed, but we take comfort in knowing that you are helping God look
atfter us. Debbie, the Guardian Angel

Tom, Sarah and Amy – you are in my thoughts and prayers.
I was thinking about Debbie just last week when Sara and I were decorating the Christmas tree. I hung up the “Santa on the fish” ornament from last year that had “Clunie 2009” on the bottom and it reminded me of how thoughtful she always was. Not too long after was time to hang the wooden Santa ornament that I painted for her as one of about 150 to sell at the Brooks Bazaar way back in 1996. It was so much fun learning how to paint those ornaments to look “professional”!
She was such a wonderful and giving person and I always enjoyed her company over the past 22 years. She was truly a blessing to all of those that were lucky enough to know her.
