My family was neighbors with the Fereday’s for many years. Swan was always involved in helping family and friends. He seemed to know everything. He will be missed. I have been in Kingwood for years but Renee still owns the house down the street and will be moving back there in a few weeks. I am sorry I did not hear about the loss until today. My prayers will be with the family.

Swan was a remarkable man with many talents. I was proud to call him my uncle. He could do just about anything he put his mind too and was a sharpe individual. He was a true craftsman!
I learned a lot from him when we worked together in a family construction business. He was a very generous person that was always willing to help those who asked. He will be missed by all that knew him. My condolences go out to the Fereday family and his friends.

I knew Swan mostly from seeing him in various projects with my brother. However, I will always remember him for one thing: he gave me their Wurlitzer organ. I’m not proficient on the instrument, but it has brought me many pleasant hours. I’ll think of Swan in the future whin I play.
Sincerely, Nelda Bristow

Swan ~ a person noted for purity and excellence (which were taken to be attributes of the swan). I did not have the privledge of knowing Swan, I do however have the incredible honor of knowing his daughter Sue Ellen and her son (my amazing brother in-law) Patrick. I feel the meaning of his name fitting as I know Swan’s attributes will forever live on as the best of him can be seen in the very family he created. I can imagine he was very much like Patrick, a soft spoken, responsible, man of his word. A man who loves his wife and children madly. A man with an uncanny ability to repair and mantain machinery. A historian, a scientist, a wealth of wisdom. May the legacy of this man live on for many generations to come. My prayers and thoughts go out to the family Swan left behind, take it one day at a time as I know you all greatly miss him. All my love always.

Swan was the dearest friend I have ever had and I will miss him terribly. I have always considered it a blessing to have him in my life. My condolences go out to Mrs. Ferredway and girls as I know he loved them very much. Swan was never late for work because he had that big ole Mickey Mouse clock that he loved. He was my friend and my co-worker and he will never be forgotten and I will miss him so very much.

A few things that come to mind when think of Swan are of him riding his little motorcycle up and down the street, him sitting in the garage drinking coffee and him working on projects with my dad. Swan was the go to guy. If you had a problem, you could go to Swan and, more than likely, he had the answer. If not, he would work for hours trying to figure it out. And if you ever needed a tool, a trailer, or a strong back, you could go to Swan and he was there to help. He was a remarkable man with a big heart. He will be missed!

I love that picture of Uncle Swan. Texas lost one of her finest son’s this week. My heart goes out to Aunt Patsy, my sweet cousins and all of his grandchildren. God bless you Uncle Swan, may you rest in eternal peace.

I knew him as Swan, the neighbor down the road who was “pals” with my Dad, Robert Bristow. I often heard about Swan and his friendship with my Dad, from developing welding projects to having coffee together in his garage. And when my Dad could not have coffee with Swan, our dog “Askah” would meet him for coffee. He was a special man.
Often we learn of people by what we see them do…in Swan I saw him helping others – family & friends. As a believer I look forward to seeing him again with Jesus.

Uncle Swan,
You must be resting well, knowing how your strength lives on through the love you gave your family. Some of that was shared with me through Sue Ellen and I thank you both for that.

Swan, my neighbor and a great friend. We spent countless hours working on projects in his shop. How I will miss sitting in his garage solving the problems of the world. There is an empty place in my life and heart now. Miss you “Buddy”
(He always called me) “Bristow”
