Christie and other family members, I am truly sorry for your loss. I just learned of Mrs. Wilson's death several days ago. I remember her as she played the organ and piano at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. We lived on 6th Street and the Wilson family lived on 7th Street. Prayers to everyone. I know she touched the lives of many students as she taught the children of La Porte,
God's Blessings to you all.

Mrs Wilson was such a special lady and teacher. She was always so kind and loving ❤️. She definitely made an impact at Bayshore Elementary to those students she taught. I always thought of her with love. She will be missed by so many.

Ms. Wilson was my most favorite first-grade teacher at Bayshore Elementary back in 1971.
I cannot say enough about this lady. Always dressed to perfection. From her perfect hair, big hoop earrings, always wearing a dress, I remember a pale pink suit, to her pointy toe heels. Which at the end of the day, she sometimes wore her slippers.
When we would get ready to get in line, she carried a yard stick just in case someone in the line decided to misbehave. I do not recall her using it very much. Back then, pops were something you could get in school.
She had such poise and grace about her.
This is the lady that taught me how to spell so well. I passed every spelling test that year except for one. The last spelling test for the year was 100 words. I missed an extra l on the word bell. Still do not know how I did that.
I worked for LPISD and one day I found out that her daughter worked for LPISD also as a substitute at the time. She came into HR one day and I told her how her mom was my most favorite teacher. We talked about her. Next thing I knew a few hours later, her daughter brought her up to the HR office for me to see her. Ms. Wilson did not remember me, but I remembered everything about her. It was such a special day and one I will never forget.
Rest in peace Ms. Wilson. You were one loved teacher.
To her family, I am so very sorry for your loss. Thoughts and prayers with each of you.
Thank you for sharing her with so many and especially me.

Few years back when I was working for La Porte ISD in the HR Department, I found out one of our substitutes for the district happened to be the daughter of Ms. Wilson. Ms. Glasco came in HR one day shortly after and I let her know that her momma was my most favorite teacher and we talked about her. A few hours later, I was surprised by her daughter bringing Ms. Wilson up to the office for me to see her. Ms. Wilson did not remember me, but I remembered everything about her. She still looked the same to me. It was such a special day and one I will never forget.
Rest in peace Ms. Wilson. You were one loved teacher.

Sincere condolences to the family. I am so very sorry for your loss. May God provide the necessary peace and comfort to your family and friends during this difficult time. Please remember these words of encouragement from the Bible: “ Jesus plainly told her: “I am the resurrection and the life. He that exercises faith in me, even though he dies, will come to life.” —John 11:20-25.

I first met this beautiful soul at Central Heights Church of Christ where I grew to love and respect her talents. Our friendship flourished through the decades. She is and will always be remembered for her kindness and the love she shown me and my family. Erica Riley said "thanks Sis Wilson for all the peppermints that I would get out of your purse." RIP Sis Wilson. We love you
