David Lee Eaton, 70 of La Porte, Tx went home to be with his Lord and Savior on May 22,2024

He was born 12/27/1953 in Port Lavaca Texas to J.R Eaton and Zelda Vaughn. After moving around as a child, David settled in Lomax where he met and married Dale Dauzat. During their 49 years of marriage, they welcomed 2 daughters, Jennifer Michelle Gibbs and Jaime Leigh Hickam. He retired from E.I Du Pont after 38 years of service and was known as “Brave Dave”. David served as Deacon, and Praise Team member at First Baptist Church of La Porte. He loved restoring old cars, playing dominos and spending time with family and friends.  David was a man after God’s own heart! He served God in many ministries but also was quick to share God’s word with anyone whose path he crossed. He lived his life to honor God.

David is preceded in death by his parents, J.R Eaton and Zelda Vaughn, daughter Jennifer Michelle Gibbs and sister Belinda Eaton Swavely. Survivors include wife Dale Eaton, daughter Jaime Hickam and Husband Gene Hickam, grandchildren Katelyn Jolie Hickam and David Edward Hickam, brothers Ronald and wife Nan, Mike and wife Sheena, Douglas and wife Tammy. Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to First Baptist Church of La Porte Building Fund in honor of David.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 28 from 6PM to 8PM. Services Wednesday at 10 and graveside to follow.
