Obituary of Kenneth Ray Reeder
Please share a memory of Kenneth to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Kenneth Ray Reeder, 55, passed away on July 25, 2011 surrounded by his loving family. After a long hard battle, Ken succumbed to brain cancer. He is survived by his parents, Frank and Erma Reeder; his loving wife of more than 20 years, June; children Bryce, Cason and Callan; brother, Larry Reeder and his wife, Martha; sisters, Roxanne Reeder, Rene White and her husband, Randy, and Tonya Reeder; father-in-law, William Kanai; mother-in-law, Wanda Kanai; sister-in-law, Ruth Kanai; brothers-in-law, Rob Kanai and Mike Kanai; and a host of many other family and friends.
Ken was born in Enid, Ok. His father was in the military, so the family of seven moved frequently all over the states and also lived in England for three years. His favorite place was Lebanon, IL, where he spent several of his high school years.
Ken graduated from Louisiana Tech University in 1979, and received a degree in Communications and Drama. He was still close to many of the friends in his theatre group.
Ken and June Kanai Reeder were married on January 26, 1990. They eloped to Las Vegas and returned 20 years later with their family of five to joyously renew their vows in the same small wedding chapel.
Ken and June owned ITI Inc., a small business providing IT support. A great source of pride for Ken was the friendship, trust, and love that is a driving force of ITI and all of our team members.
Ken dearly loved his family, friends, music, politics, traveling and so much more. He was a wonderful husband, father, loyal friend and a strong leader that will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
A special thanks to MD Anderson Hospital and to one of our best friends, Dr. Robert Wolff, for his giving care, support and persistence through this long and difficult journey. We also appreciate the support and kindness of Dr. Ganesh Rao.
