Neil, we send condolences to you and your family from Colorado after hearing of your tragic and sudden loss. From the comments of others who knew her, your wife was a woman of great love and faith. May you be consoled by our Lord and by the many gifts He gave her as a wife and mother, which you experienced. Verna will be remembered in our thoughts and prayers, as will you and your children at this difficult time. John and Cony

Verna was one of the sweetest ladies I have ever met. When she showed up, anywhere, she lit up the room! I was blessed to have Brice in my class at Garfield. Which meant I was hugged in that incredible way that only Verna could hug….on a daily basis. She had the incredible gift of LOVE. She just loved you no matter who you were or where you have been…without reservation. She loved her family with all her heart. How blessed you were to have her.
1 Corinthians 13:13
“And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.”
When the days seem hard, when you miss her the most, know that she left you with faith-that you will see her again, hope-in what you do not see, and love-that she so freely gave to anyone who ever knew her.

It seems like I knew Verna forever (from Katie through Bryce). She was such a wonderful lady and especially proud of her family. It was such a pleasure to know her. She always had a smile on her face and lots of love in her heart. We will miss her. My prayers are with each of you. May God bless you all.

Our prayers are with you today and will continue. {2 Corinthians 5:8}We are confident that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. .. I saw Verna a few months ago in a restaurant. She hugged me with that big giant Verna hug and we visited for a while. I cherish every moment she spent at Garfield! She worked endless hours at the school and was as much a part of the staff as any of us! I’m so sorry for your loss! I am confident that her savior received that big giant Verna hug as she entered heaven! Please know that we will be there with you to celebrate her amazing life! …praying for you!!!

Will not be able to come and show my respect but wanted you to know how blessed I feel having known her. She helped Dee and I get through a difficult time and always had a smile and a hug to share. She seemed to know when we needed it the most. TO KATIE: you have much of your mom in the loving spirit you show the world. It is hard but stay strong for yourself and your family. We adored her more than words can relay. You are all in our prayers. -Cyn

My deepest sympathy to the family. My daughter, Stephanie Womack and I met Verna at Miller Intermediate when Colleen and Stephanie played volleyball. Verna always came with a bag full of candy to give to the girlsat every game! I will always remember her happy smiling face and the great times we shared. She was a joy and a delight to be around.
Love,
Patty & Stephanie
