Ms Batson was such a beautiful, loving and caring person. The world was a better place because of her. She was there for me last year when my Mom was terminally ill and I will never forget her kindness and support. Even though she was out ill and was fighting her own battle, she continued to be there for me and give me support.
I will never forget you Ms. Batson!!
My prayers go out to your family….may your love and beautiful memories remain forever in their hearts until that glorious day you are re-united for eternity. RIP dearest Ms. Batson

I am writing this letter on behalf of my mother. She suffers from advanced dementia, and would not be able to do this herself. However, I wanted to let all of you know that my mom simply adored Veronica! They worked together at Baptist when it was over on Bellfort. I used to take my newborn to visit, and Veronica and her friends would always gather around and “ooh and ahh”…heady stuff for a new mom!
Anyway, my mom retired early, but their great friendship continued for many years. My mom, Ginny Walker, and Veronica were quite the threesome. I’ve lost track of the number of fun trips that they took to Las Vegas, Coushatta, and various other gambling places! They also enjoyed going to Canton together, and shopping whenever they could. Even though my mom had moved away to West Columbia, Veronica (and Ginny) still made a great effort to keep in touch with her and include her in all of their activities.
After Mom went into nursing home care, they made several trips down to Angleton to visit her and take her on outings.
I know firsthand that Veronica had a great love for her family, because she spoke fondly of all of you on a regular basis. She is probably the strongest person I’ve ever met. When Mom & I went to visit her the 1st time that she had cancer, she was so happy to have visitors and really didn’t speak of her illness. She just wanted to know all about our families.
So, from my mom, and myself, I offer your family our deepest condolences. As the old saying goes, your mom made the world a better place just by being in it!

Ms. Batson was the Director of Materials Management at Southeast Memorial Hermann when I first had the opportunity of encountering her.
She interviewed and hired me as her Manager of Sterile Processing in 1997. I had the pleasure of working with her for almost two years. She unwaveringly held herself out as a role model for others to emulate. She will be missed in the Memorial Hermann family. My heartfelt sympathy
goes out to her family and friends.

Veronica was a trusted friend. When I was suffering going thru cancer and chemo Veronica was always there. We would laugh about our “wigs” .. and cry thru the pain. Veronica was an inspiration, an encourager, and her smile and twinkling little sparkle in her eyes always a lift to my soul! How precious she was and I am positive she is basking in the arms of our Lord and Savior. No more pain sweet lady and I know that the day will come when we will enjoy our giggles and winks in Heaven! When I left due to disability at MHHS, we always said, “if I don’t see you again here, I will meet you in Heaven”. Well, you “beat me there”. May your family be encouraged and comforted…you will never be forgotten and your memories will live within our hearts forever!

When I started at Memorial Southeast Hospital in March of 1986 one of the first people I met was the vibrant, energetic and friendly OR Manager – Mrs. Veronica Batson. Mrs. Batson made me feel welcome and through my daily interactions with her I felt as though I had come home. I worked in a compoletely different department than she did and yet I interacted with her every day. And every interaction I had with her was postive left me felling better about myself. Years later I finally felt comfortable calling her “Ronnie”. I will always have a warm spot in my heart for this dear incredible lady. Thank you Mrs. Batson for all you gave to me!
