I miss you friend. I came across letters we had written back and forth to each other while in Jr. High with our little code on it that only we knew. I found pictures of you on our bus days and vividly remember your new fur rabbit coat you got that I thought was absolutely beautiful and snuggly on you!!!
I won't ever forget you my friend and I look forward to seeing you someday!!
God watch over my angel friend!

Robbie,
Just learned of this and wanted to share our condolences with you and the girls. Elizabeth was such a joy to be around – always finding the positive, creative and exuberant, tactful, clever and charming. It was my great privilege to work with her on the church dramas – sharing the creative spark and building something together that had the opportunity to give folks insight into the glory of God. Her friendship was such a blessing. Keeping you and the girls in prayer.

It was my pleasure to work with Elizabeth. I once told her that my nickname for her was Maggie. I explained that she was a true example of a steel magnolia. I will truly miss my beautiful flower of a friend and and a solid steel leader.

I feel fortunate to have known Elizabeth! I will always remember her sincere testimony at NHC women’s retreat; the conversation we shared at SBC when we spent the church hour in our bible study room talking, crying, praying with one another; and the generous recommendation she wrote for me for seminary and her encouragement along the way. I share in your sadness and also in your hope (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18).

I knew Elizabeth professionally. She was always kind, friendly and so helpful whenever you needed her. Elizabeth was such an inspiration and I admired her positive attitude inspite of her being sick and the amazing way she continued with her job. No one ever knew she was fighting such a big battle. She was extremely pleasant so much so that I sometimes forgot that she was even sick. My heart goes out to you all and I am praying that God comforts and gives you peace during this time.

Robbie, Katie, Laura, and Shelby,
I was saddened to hear of Elizabeth’s passing. Robbie all the email updates have been great over the years. And although I haven’t seen you guys in a while, I loved the time working with Elizabeth at the church and then the time I spent picking up you girls from school several years ago. Elizabeth was a wonderful lady, mom and wife. I pray that God’s love surrounds you during this time of sorrow and strengthens you and lifts you up.

TO Elizabeth’s parents: Raymond and Emma Vaughn
Lowell and I wish to express our condolences to you on the loss of your beautiful daughter, Elizabeth. We cannot imagine the pain you are going through, but we do know that God will bless and comfort you during this very sad time.
We have been friends for many years, and your friendship has always been a blessing to us. It is very easy to see where Elizabeth got her love of people, her kindness and thoughtfulness, and above all, her spiritual growth. They came straight from you as her parents, and we commend you for teaching her these so important character traits.
Our hope is that you realize what a special person she was to all of us, and we will love and miss her. Our hearts ache for you and your pain, and we can only hope that the Lord will be extra kind to you and give you the courage and peace you so deserve during this time.
My God continue to bless and comfort you.
Love always,
Meta and Lowell

Robbie, Katie, Laura & Shelby: We were so sorry to learn of Elizabeth’s passing. She had been fighting this illness for 3 1/2 years. But never once did we hear her complain–she would just continue to keep us informed of the next stage of treatment.
She was a beautiful, kind and very spiritual person and one which we thank God every day we were fortunate enough to know and love. We never saw her when she didn’t have that beautiful smile on her face and happiness in those gorgeous eyes.
She loved you all with every fiber of her being. ELizabeth was an angel on earth and now one in Heaven. She will be a hard act to follow. I can just see her now organizing Heaven to its fullest potential!
Words are hard to express at a difficult time like this, but please know that we will keep you in our thoughts and prayers, and we ask that God grant you the peace and understanding as only He can give to get you through this difficult time. Elizabeth will live on in your memories and will be there as your Guardian Angel in spirit.
May God bless you and keep you close to his Heart for now and evermore.
Our love always,
Meta and Lowell Kirby

Melinder Family,
Elizabeth was an amazing woman, with incredible grace, strength and faith. The love she had for her family and friends was always evident. Her time with us was far too brief, but she lived every second she was given to the fullest and got it right! We are so blessed and are better people for having known her. Your family will be in our thoughts and prayers. Please let us know if we can do anything for you now or in the future.
With all our love, Marc and Vaniesa Davis

There are so many tender ministries of the Lord to our lives, but it is in the time of loss that we discover the deepest meaning of His tenderness. May you sense His tender words being spoken to your heart, “I am your God and I will be your comfort.”
You all were deeply loved by Elizabeth and I know how proud she was of her family. May God bless and comfort you.

Our prayers and thoughts are with you! You have continued to be such a Godly example during this journey. Yesterday during my quiet time, I was so reminded of you and your family.
First of all, for Elizabeth, and how she exemplified Christ through her pain and suffering….
James 1:12 says, “Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.:
And also for you Robbie and your girls…
James 5:11, “As you know, we consider blessed those who have persevered. You have heard of Job’s perseverance and have seen what the Lord finally brought about. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy.”
Thank you for your steadfastness! I will always remember Elizabeth and her passion and zeal for the Lord. She is a beautiful woman and I look forward to spending time with her in heaven one day!!
Love you so much — Coby & Sue, Avery, Addie and Kade Allen

Dear Robbie, Katie, Laura and Shelby,
I want to express my deep sadness at learning that Elizabeth passed away. I worked with her at Methodist Hospital whlie training with the executives in 1993-1996. She was such an amazing young woman–so intelligent, competent and highly-skilled. She was so outstanding that many surgery Chairs were trying to recruit her away from her position in the Division of Surgery. As the years passed, she advanced to very high-levels in her career, which was no surprise. We kept in touch until she left Methodist to work for her church. Elizabeth was such a beautiful, talented, loving friend, wife and mother and she will be very missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

“Well done, good and faithful servant”. Elizabeth’s journey here on earth has ended but her everlasting journey has just begun. She was given a very special job here on earth and that was to love and cherish her family-which she did with tremendous pride and joy. She touched the lives of so many people and now she will brighten up the stars in heaven. Remember that she is always in your heart and when you least expect it, you will feel a brush on her hand on your face, or a pat on the shoulder, that is her letting you know that she is next to you and will never leave your side. May you all find peace in the days to come. Rest in Peace Elizabeth, you will be missed

Robbie, Katie, Laura and Shelby,
We are truly heart broken to hear of your loss. Your family has been in our prayers since we first learned of Elizabeth’s illness. Thankfully, God has blessed you with each other, a strong family and a strong church family to help you though this difficult time.
Of course, we know that Elizabeth is now with our heavenly Father in paradise and that she is free from all pain. Even as you mourn, I know you will also celebrate her life. Celebrate the wonderful woman, wife and mother she was and the impact she had on your lives and the lives of so many others.
I pray that you will find peace in knowing that you will be reunited with Elizabeth in our Father’s heavenly kingdom. While that reunion will take place as part God’s plan, I am confident that in the meantime, he will hold each you in his loving hands and provide you with constant reminders of Elizabeth and your wonderful reunion to come.
May God bless each of you.
All our love, David and Renee

Robbie, Katie, Laura and Shelby,
My prayers are with you all. I knew your mom from Jr. High. We were very good friends from 6th grade on. I spent many of my lunch hours in high school watching your mom play those big ole cluster drums of hers and go to a many games just to hear the band and watch her march. We celebrated birthdays at her house and mine. I always admired her and loved her and was so happy when we found each other on facebook. We had planned to go to lunch last year and never got around to it. What a loss to me not to be able to see her again and her about her wonderful family first hand.
Your mom was such a special lady and a joy even back in the day. So talented and beautiful. I am so sorry for you loss. May God be with you and I know she will always be watching over you.

Our thoughts and prayers are with y’all.
As we were talking last night ’bout your wife, Robbie, your mom, girls, words like professional, polished, always smiling, friendly, helpful, ALWAYS looking so well “put-together” came up. It was such a pleasure to visit with her, she was always bragging on you girls! I loved hearing about what was up with each of you, what you were in to – she took such pride in each of you – not just your accomplishments, but your spirits. We loved her too, and will remember her fondly. Can’t wait to see her again – PRAISE that is a reality we can all count on. HUGS to all of y’all. Holler if we can help with anything. – Bev & Mike Konzem
