Gerry and John Miller posted a condolence
Sunday, November 25, 2012
Connie, Gerry and I were saddened to learn of Bob’s passing. As you may recall he played a significant role in my transitioning back to sports medicine, a move which made my subsequent professional life more satisfying and enjoyable and in which I continue to have some involvement. So I owe Bob a great deal of thanks for that and having had the opportunity to know and work with him. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you in what we know is a difficult time John (and Gerry) Miller

Connie & Family,
Donald and I would like to share our deepest condolences on your lost. Donald and I had the pleasure of meeting Bob at the Pearland YMCA and he was influential in teaching us both how to play Pickleball. My husband would never want to play until Bob was there!!! He was a great player and Pickleball friend. We enjoyed his company and friendship and he will be greatly missed. We send our sympathy to you during this time of transition and pray that the peace and love of God carry you through this time of loss. Blessings to you and the family!

Connie and Family,
I am glad I was able to spend that short time with you this summer. I enjoyed revisiting those fun times Bob and I had during our time with the IU basketball team.
I send my sympathy to you and hope the pain of the loss of this great man is buffered by the knowledge he is a far better place where we will join him one day.

Dear Connie, Our “Pickleball Bob” will be missed. Bob encouraged us (Pearland Rec Center Pickleball players) to go to the “Senior Pickleball Tournament” in San Antonio earlier this year and I will always remember that as a fun experience. His enthusiam for the sport and the event made us want to attend. It is sad to say good bye to our Pickleball friend.
God bless you and your family. You will always be in our prayers.

I recieved this from Jean Breeden Kelly after sending the notice to the class. Bob was admired and appreciated by all of us.
Thank you for sending this to us.
The last time I saw Bob was at our class reunion.
As I recall, Bob and Connie were in their SUV leaving for the evening. I had purchased a print of our high school, and I needed to get something out of our car. Since my husband drove, I couldn’t remember where we parked, and I was walking around the parking lot–trying to find my car when Bob and Connie noticed me. They stopped, and Bob insisted that I get in their vehicle–and they drove me around until I finally spotted my car.
I will always remember Bob as a true gentleman.

Bob was a great man and I’m thankful and blessed to have known him. My thoughts and prayers go out to Connie, their children and grandchildern. Bob was so kind and giving. I still chearish the tie Bob and Connie brought me back all the way from Italy. Who does that for their financial advisor? St Francis said, “it is by dying that we awaken into eternal life” God bless you Bob.

Connie and family,
Judy and I were so sorry to hear of Bob’s death. We extend our deepest sympathies. Bob and I spent a lot of hours together on basketball road trips. I enjoyed his company. One of my fondest memories is attending a hockey game in NYC. The IU team was given the opportunty of attending a hockey game in Madison Square garden. Only Bob and I accepted the offer. When we arrive, we noticed how courteous eveyone was. We soon discovered, our seats were those of the owner of the New York Rangers. We smiled the entire game.
Bob was a really good guy.

My prayers are with Bob’s family. I have great memories of Bob and used to live near his grandmother north of Bloomington, as I recall. Bob was a wonderful example even as a young man when we were in high school together. I am thankful for his relationship with the Master. I look forward to seeing him again in heaven.
