After 90 years of a beautiful and nurturing life, Rosemary Bourgeois Duncan passed away on December 23, 2012. Mrs. Duncan is survived by two sons, Richard Duncan and his wife Lois Marie Williams, Stephen Duncan and wife Kathryn, two daughters, Patricia Duran and husband Ignacio, Mary Catherine Roebuck and husband Jerry, grandsons Shaun Thomas, Ryan Wright and Emory Duncan, granddaughters Tamara Thomas, April Anders and husband Thomas, and 10 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Francis Richard Duncan, parents, Varnum Joseph Bourgeois and Agnes Bourgeois, and brother, Varnum Joseph Bourgeois, Jr. Rosemary lived her entire life in Houston, Texas. She was raised as a devoted member of the Catholic faith, attending Sacred Heart School and Incarnate Word Academy in Houston, Texas, graduating in 1939. She met her husband of 55 years and was married in 1951 in Houston. She worked for most of her career with Palmer Paper Company in Houston and retired in 1987. She was an accomplished bowler with the Mount Carmel and Edgewood Leagues and was an avid bridge player. Volunteer activities included years as team mother for Little League Baseball, classroom volunteer at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Elementary School, and assisting families of those who are ill. She loved to entertain family and friends at any time. Her home was frequently the center of activities for parties and holiday gatherings. Rosemary never had an unkind word for anyone. She left a legacy of kindness, thoughtfulness and friendship throughout her life and set an example as one hard working angel. Visitation hours will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas, 77581. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, December 27, 2012 at 10:00 am at Clayton Funeral Home, with Father Charles E. Lynch C.S.B. officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery on Lawndale Avenue in Houston. Memorial contributions may be made to Incarnate Word Academy, 609 Crawford Street, Houston, Texas 77002-3668 or to a charitable organization of one’s choice.
