Roxy,
I am so sorry for your loss. My family will definately have you and your family in our prayers. I am one of Jana’s friends, and though, I didn’t know Russel very well, I have heard what an honorable hero he has been in our United States Navy. You also sound like a very stong woman, and I pray God continues to give you even more strength!
May God Bless and be with your family!
With Love,

God’s Garden
God looked around His garden
And He found an empty place
He then looked down upon the earth
And saw your precious face
He put His arms around you
And lifted you to rest;
God’ s Garden must be beautiful
He always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering
He knew you were in pain
He knew you’ d never ever
Get well on earth again.
So He closed your weary eyelids
And whispered ” Peace be thine ”
Then He took you up to Heaven
With Hands so gentle and kind.
It broke our hearts to lose you
But you did not go alone,
For part of us went with you
The day God welcomed you home.

We weren’t prepared for you to leave our lives so soon. We thought such a special young man could such have a positive impact on this earth but then in your short life you did accomplish that didn’t you? I don’t think we’ll ever fully know the number of lives that were changed because of you. People you didn’t even meet but knew your story; knew the strength and dignity and faith with which you fought this battle to the end. People who saw an example of what a loving son, a devoted husband, a caring dad and a loyal friend should be. You will never be forgotten, Russel, not just because memories of you live on in our hearts but a little piece (or example) of the way you lived will live on through each of us.
Uncle Steve and I love you. Be at peace in God’s loving arms.

I did not know Russel, but I heard him on the radio station 94.5 The Buzz. Your story touched my heart and renewed my faith in people. I pray that God be with this amazing mans family. I pray for strength and for comfort in your time of sorrow. Your story has touched and forever changed so many lives that have never met you. Thank you for your military service to our country. God Bless.
