Russel Loren Edwards III, 30, passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2013. He is survived by his father, Russel L. Edwards Jr. and his wife, Brinda; his loving wife of 8 years, Roxanne Edwards; son, Russel L. Edwards IV; daughters, Laura Cunningham, Cassandra Cunningham, Alexandra Edwards, Olivia Hope Edwards; brothers, Travis Edwards and his wife, Dawn, Ben Williams, David Foshee and his wife, Heather; sisters, Kristy Dunaway her husband, Jason, Ashley Rodarte, Jana Massy and her husband, Jonathan; grandfather, Russel Edwards Sr.; grandmothers, Charna Cox and her husband, Wayne, Grandma Laughlin; nieces and nephews, Kayleigh and Hayley Edwards and Scott and Amelia Dunaway, lil Jonny Massy, Dylan, Tucker and Jackson Foshee; best friends, Nick Ketchum and Roy Nicholson; and a host of other family and friends. Russel and Roxanne met on e-Harmony and didn’t meet in person for four and a half months. Once they finally met, they were inseparable and married 7 months later. Russel was very competitive and was a big online and computer gamer. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy for 12 years. He loved his family very much and was even in charge of taking care of his funeral arrangements so that his wife would not have to make arrangements alone. Russel was a great provider, wonderful role model and drew much of his strength from his family. He fought a stoic and courageous battle with cancer and touched many lives with his unwavering determination. Russel will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him The family will be receiving friends for a visitation and wake on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. A memorial service for Russel will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2013 in the chapel at the Naval Construction Battalion Center in Gulfport, Mississippi at 2:00 pm.
