Good kisser. “Bad” Boy. One of the most self-confident people I ever met. Taught me to put salt in beer at the Pizza Hut in Freeport. Afterwards, we sat by Mystery, the shrimp-boat-on-chocks next to the library. As the sun went down we slapped at mosquitoes and talked about life and death. He said that he thought heaven was where we got to do everything we wanted, all the time, and that in order to get ready for it we should start by doing everything we love here on earth. He then said that what he loved most was photography. By the comments here I can now see that he lived by his word and has spent all these years rehearsing for heaven. Welcome Home, Ricky.

Richard was such an inspiration to us in A.A. Many times he listened to me when I was having a difficult time. He was sooo proud of his family.
He can finally rest, now.

Richard was one of the Baytown Sun’s best and most enthusiastic photographers to ever work there. Anytime, night or day, that something exploded, caught fire, wrecked, blew in on a hard wind or garnered a commendation, he was there, camera clicking (before digital). He was young and a teeny bit arrogant but an absolute pleasure to work with. He’s probably snapping pictures of the heavenly hosts even as we speak. RIP. My thoughts and prayers go to his family and especially to my friend, Diana.

I didn’t know him well in school but I did get to know him. I had a chance to get to know Him after the reunion, he was very kind to me and even took a picture of us together at the Ice house. He was a real gentleman, NOT MANY of those left in this world. Later on that night he called me and that was a special moment for me that he thought enough of me to call. I will Never forget him. He Definitely was a special MAN!:)

I’ve known Ricky,as we called him, since Jr. High. I loved his personality, his smile; he was friendly with everyone he came in contact with. I really enjoyed visiting with him at our class reunion. We have lost a valuable friend and loved one, but Heaven has gained an angel and amazing photographer. My prayers for his family that God will comfort you and give you peace.

Ricky was a classmate of mine and I got reconnected with him in the summer of 2012. I always admired his gusto for life and his artistic talent of photography. He had a great eye for beauty.
I know that my loss does not begin to compare to the loss to him mom and family. I pray for God’s comforting grace to be with you during these days.
I will not be able to attend the services as I live in the Dallas area but I will look in on Richard when I come to Angleton the next time. He is in good company with many other of our classmates buried there. May his soul rest in peace!
